More than 30 reactors around the world have been built incorporating ODIM Numet’s custom nuclear equipment and components, dating back to new builds in the 1970’s and continuing into the 1990’s with the construction of reactors in Korea, China, and Romania. With current designs and certifications we are well positioned to supply to new-build programs that are now being launched, or are under consideration.
Typical products supplied for new reactor construction include nuclear process components such as strainers, flame arrestors, heat exchangers, and flow measurement equipment, as well as process skids and a variety of specialty systems. We can design and supply virtually any type of custom nuclear pressure boundary equipment, engineered to suit any specific site conditions, supplied fully certified to the highest nuclear codes and standards.
D2O Fuelling Machine Valve Station & Rehearsal FacilityThis Fuelling Machine (F/M) Rehearsal Facility controls the D2O pressure and flow rate to the F/M rehearsal channel. It includes a hydraulic system (PCV's, flow & pressure transmitters, control valves, ball valves, and accumulators) and a pneumatic system (actuators, pressure switches, etc.). Its individual internal process loops have several different license classifications including ASME Section III, Class 3 which is supplied to the ASME NQA-1 quality standard.
Failed Fuel Location SystemThis seismically qualified nuclear reactor system incorporates a carriage that remotely traverses a liquid filled tank. A neutron detector is lowered into ASME nuclear class 1 sample coils housed in a liquid filled moderator tank. This is an excellent example of the importance of the diversity of expertise that ODIM Numet can apply to meeting the specialty equipment requirements of the nuclear industry.
D2O Fuelling Machine Heat ExchangersThese spiral coil heat exchangers are custom designed for high duty and very compact packaging. The exchangers are a combination of both ASME Section III and Section VIII design and fabrication, and are used as both heaters and coolers for the CANDU reactor heavy water hydraulic Fuelling Machine control system.
