With the full support of the Managing Director, a strong EHS culture is maintained by an internal EHS officer and committee. Environmental, Health, and Safety responsibilities are core values at ODIM Numet and the primary duty of all staff is to ensure that these issues are treated with the utmost importance. ODIM Numet is committed to achieving the highest levels of EHS performance and has benefited from exposure to the excellent safety programs in our customers’ nuclear facilities. The performance of our EHS program is monitored by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and high safety ratings have been achieved. Maintaining this rating requires a commitment from all stakeholders and a culture of continuous improvement in the EHS Program. As a registered waste generator in the Hazardous Waste Information Network, any shipments for disposal to a registered hazardous waste site are reported. Waste levels are low enough that reporting to the National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) is not required, in part due to efforts to reduce waste streams and replace hazardous materials with environmentally friendly alternatives. The volume of waste shipped is also significantly reduced by on site treatment to remove water from machining coolants and liquid penetrant wastes. |
